The main idea for this episode is how, years ago, the world use to be simple no comuters, phones...until the industrial revolution. If we depend on technology too much...what would happen if it broke down? The family is going to a town called simplicity. Molly has an errand to run, and she wants to make it private, but Fi figures it out that they're going to see Tad Raxall. He's a computer-genius (as Bill Gates) and Molly wrote a jingle for him a while back. Molly want Tad to stop billing her as " The jingle girl". As the family arrives in Simplicity, Irene tries to call Star-Dot-Star (Tad's company) but can't get an answer. Suddenly, the bus goes crazy, and Ned can't drive anymore. Luckily they stop without hitting anything. Jack sees the company's entrance so everyone goes up to it. They find it locked. Jack tries the voicebox when it starts to spark. The family goes to try and find someone to help get in while Ned fixes the bus. They go to a diner and the waitress tells them he should be in for lunch soon, so they sit down. Fi takes out an instrument that finds paranormal activity. She turns it on...Wind starts blowing everywhere and the instrument sparks, and turns off. Fi notices a little object that looks like a top hat that appeared on her instrument. She puts it on a fork and asks the waitress what it is when it disappears in a green flash. Tad comes singing Molly's song. They see each other and Tad calls her his "inspiration". He says his company is at war... And when he was 1 day away from "reaching his goal" his enemy stopped him. He notes that the family has been "stopped" too and points at the tourbus and tells them they can make technology stop, and that It defies science. Tad gives Fi a beta version of his new software. It's a coupon for one anyways. Fi goes to her room and logs onto her computer when she goes onto a search site and tpes in "technology top hats". It pulls out a site about gremlins who wear top hats and make technology stop. While she's reading the page, a picture of a gremlin waves at her and her computer starts to move to the floor. Fi chases it onto the road outside... Mooly, Clu, and Jack go to Tad's office and use ways to not use technolgy around the office... Molly goes to talk to Tad when he expresses his anger at the technolgy that's not working. Molly was going to tell Tad to quit using the song, but decided not to. Fi comes in and tells her mom that gremlins stole her laptop when she was online. Tad tells everyone to find the laptop, so he can get online. Suddenly, a mail robot starts workin and tries to run him over....The family goes to a picnic, when Fi and Clu try to make a gremlin trap. They put paint onto the blanket they are on and turn on a cellphone...It starts to spark, and then breaks. After this is over, there is tiny footprints all over the blanket. They go to show Tad and he (in-a-way) believes her. Fi says gremlins are mad because they started the industrrial revolution but didn't get any credit, and are picking on Tad because he is the head of computers. Fi asks him to apologize on the behalf mankind. Tad thinks it's kindof crazy. He doesn't want to help, and leaves. Molly comes in and Fi tells her she just wanted to help. Fi suggests leaving. Fi hears someone singing Molly's jingle, and she gets an idea. She goes back to the bus and gets everyone to sing Molly's jingle in a different way by singing "Technology is not the key" and other phrases like that. The grimlins come and Fi's laptop appears in her hands. Ned starts the bus and Fi tells him they've been forgiven. Tad goes to talk to Molly that she wants him to use her new lyrics. He takes them, and says goodbye. The bus leaves... Clu has a calculator that he says Tad gave him that he can't work. Fi hands him a pencil... Back at simplicity, the waitress is giving the grimlins their suits...
